The devlopment took 12 months to complete, working in close collaboration with the Client Bomarsund Housing Co-op and Anthony Watson Chartered Architects. 

 

The Client was keen to promote and maintain their high standard of housing stock and this has been reflected in the quality of this development.

'Back on the Map' was a regeneration project for void and derelict properties in the Hendon area of Sunderland.

 

Able Construction were initially instructed to undertake refurbishments to 27 properties of varying sizes and layouts. An additional 20 properties was added to the project at a later date, at the request of the client..

This development was for the construction of 7 bungalows, on the site of former garages surrounded by existing social housing.

 

The properties were constructed using timber frame construction methods and to the  Code for Sustainable Homes level 4. The bungalows included the provision of solar panels and rain water harvesting tanks  providing energy efficiency and low environmental impact housing.

Construction of a 4 bedroom detached Vicarage and adjacent garage for the Durham Diocese in Hartlepool.

 

The property was designed by Ashdown Architects and completed to a high specification. The Vicarage was also nominated for the award of Best Individual New Property at the LABC bulding awards.
